Season Information
NorthStar will host three Alabama State League teams for the Fall 2025 season. You can register your player for tryouts with the button below. Tryout dates are as listed:

U12 tryouts will be held from 6-7:30 May 19 and 21, with a pre-tryout day on May 12
U14 tryouts will be held on May 12, 14, and 16 from 6-7:30 pm
U19 tryouts will be May 12, 14, and 15 from 6-7:30 pm

Players are kindly asked to register for tryouts ahead of time. Walk-on tryouts will take place on May 12th.

State league soccer teams represent a higher level of competition compared to regular club soccer teams, requiring a greater commitment from players and families. While regular club teams typically focus on skill development, local competitions, and a balanced schedule, state league teams compete at a regional or state level, often facing off against stronger teams from a larger geographical area. This means more intense training, travel for away games, and a longer season with more frequent matches.

When and where are practices?
All practices are currently located at Mclendon Park. Practices are typically an hour and a half and will occur two or three times a week.

What is the price?
ASL fees are $150 per season.
As a ministry, NorthStar is dedicated to providing as many young people as possible the opportunity to play, regardless of financial circumstances. Please contact us about financial aid and payment plans.

How do I join?
In order to join a NorthStar ASL team, your player must attend tryouts and be invited onto the team. Tryout information can be found above. Players who are not accepted onto an ASL team are welcome to join one of our Futures teams.
NorthStar ASL Coaches
I started coaching because I love soccer and fell in love with being able to teach kids and share my love of the sport. I stayed coaching this team because of how amazing the boys are, they are a great group of kids who are not only great to coach but also uplifting to be around. Being able to coach the same team, building relationships as a team, and seeing them grow not only as a player but also as people has been so rewarding as a coach. I wouldn’t trade the team I coach for anything.
I coach because I believe youth sports are a powerful tool for helping young athletes develop life skills—such as discipline, resilience, teamwork, and leadership—that will serve them well beyond the game.
